  • we just had the transmission rebuilt on our spyder, but there were still a few starting problems. Do you think it might be the ancient spark plugs? Noticed yours looked very clean

  • first of all what year is your spider? if it is a 69-79 with spica it can be a number of things like the fuel mixture or the Thermostatic Actuator. spark plugs wont really hurt it. as long as theyr not fouled and your running on all 4 cylinders it should be fine.

  • How's that spica fuel system working for ya? I'm picking up a 79 at the end of this week. Starts up great. Has a very high idle *brake booster line has a huge tear in it* Do you think that the vacuum leak alone would cause an idle in the 2400RPM range? Love the spider! Great looking car!

  • My Spider had a mechanical fuel pump. It was some problems starting her up after a long period without driving. Then I changed to a electric fuelpump :-))) As soon as I put the ignition on it starts pumping ... and after some seconds its idling like a cat :-))
