Mobil1 tests synthetics on a BMW e30 325i through a rough one million miles. Mobil drives the important point that synthetics oil and gas additives preserve the mechanicals. The other important factor to note is the engine chosen is of the most durable that BMW ever designed. It is not unusual to see 400k mile m20b25 or b27 engines on the road today.

  • @bob00099bob00099 i have a 02 318 at the moment for a vacum pump. nice car to look at and drive but its not a good car at all, oil leaks everywhere, creamy cap and dipstick, generally the way that all of them are when i get them in. i get where your coming from tho, i love my car too and i dont really consider the cost of parts and labour is free, but you have to consider the labour costs and 200 euro rocker gaskets for average Jo Soap. expensive to own and maintain

  • @nickernosher there it goes, im a mechanic, i work cars daily aswell, and al bmws ive worked on have been easy and cheap. its a sterio type that has somehow started and isnt true at all. i have a 1989 e30 with a 1996 e36 328i engine in it. i love my bmws. but nothing costs much at all. on average the parts i buy for the bmw are cheaper than the subaru i had. bmws are easy to work on, try it one day and youll realise the storys arnt true.

  • 1. Listen to 0:35 (Engine heat) 4 years no cooling?

2.If engine was running day and night how they changed parts 2:21

    3.Broken piston holder 5:20 - Good piston holder 6:11

    Cool

    Story

    Bro

  • I would like to see his with a Dodge Neon, or Ford Escort.

  • @bob00099bob00099 youd be hard pressed to find a motor that dosnt. as of the last decade, nothing to do with car manufacturesm to do with steel/iron/aluminium advancments. and to be honest, im a mechanic and bmw are garbage, if you want a bmw. get your self a 325 e36 i think. 6 cylinder, built the way that peop;le think modern ones are.. all performance bm's are made in a different factory.. that says it all

  • its because bmws are built with quality. pulled a bm engine apart a while back, had approx 300,000ks on the clock and had spent its last 2 years in a race car. this engine got beat around alot, and bearly spent a weekend with out hitting the rev limiter and still had the marks on the bores from the origanal honing.

  • its the BMW, not the Mobil, so do bother putting this in your citroen, peugeot, or even renault and expect it to run like magic!!

Oh, and if you own a merc..... get a life!!

  • @frogvillage yes, agreed. but proper maintenance and quality parts has got to be a contributing factor here

  • BMW engines make this possible, not mobile
