Soprano Teresa Stratas sings Kurt Weill's "Youkali Tango". Wonderful rendition of the song.
The humble video was made by me. Tango pictures in colour made by me at the "Piazzolla Tango" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Stratas' pictures collected on the Internet.

OUTSTANDING!!!!! Thank you VERY much for sharing this with us - I'm going to have to buy this album either on LP or on CD some time in the future (I already have THE UNKNOWN KURT WEILL, on which she also sings VERY well and with penetrating insight, as she does here).

I have loved this song for years and never even knew what the words meant. The song just draws you in-and then i heard this young girl sing on the subway in NYC. She was singing youkali which she translated herself into english. I literally cried when i heard the words. What a vision this composer adn singer had. I video taped it. and i'm going to respond againd with her video . She gave me permission, so i came back and video taped her whole show. She looks a little like Stratas too.
