Texas International Airlines flight 655 disaapeared while on a scheduled flight from El Dorado, Arkansas to Texarkana, Arkansas in September 1973. This story recounts what happened that night as a couple of aviation archeologists search for the wreckage 30 years later.

My father was an insurance underwriter for the company that insured this aircraft. I got to see a slide show presentation of the investigation including Kodachrome slides and a copy of the CVR transcript with the infamous forty four hund.... remark. Before the days of internet and instant access to data, this left a lasting impression on me to to see the findings.

My dad was the commanding officer of the Civil air patrol in El Dorado. I remember this very well as I flew with my dad many hours searching for this aircraft.

24 years after I last was 6, I saw 3:10 to Yuma with the corps of Fred at a marina . There was no member comparison that night . Jeff bailed on us, the crosseyed dingbat..

My father, Fred Tumlinson, was the co-pilot on this flight.
