This video shows the finished PIC18F powered LED colour organ and light display. It is designed as a Christmas tree decoration and (unlike many other colour organs) has completely automatic gain and peak control. It features a 5 pattern light display which can be controlled by clapping your hands and has automatic switch-over from light display to colour organ using sound-detection.
Full details including schematics, PCB design and the C-code for the project is available from my website (the address is in my channel detail).
Since the project can drive many different light sources from a 3A variable power regulator it is easily adapted for a number of different colour organ designs. I hope you like it!
hey Simon great project, great idea, I have been to your website already and am about to build your board to use in the back of my existing LED PARCANS, the ones you buy in DJ lighting shops that only have chase or flash sequences on them, no one yet produces a LED color organ lighting effect, I will have to check the voltages & current draw first, I love seeing the red pump to the bass, I had been thinking about using PWM to control LEDs but had not yet fugured out a design but you have, thanx
