Dino Thunder | Tainted Love

Please take in the disclaimer placed before the video. Because I'm not sugar coating it - this is by far, the most intense music video I've created. I have not created it to upset or offend anyone, it's simple an expression of creativty. Am I supporting pedophila? Heck to the no. And in no way am I expressing that within this music video. Tommy Oliver is by far my favorite character of Power Rangers, and in no lifetime could I view him in that ascept. I've always seen Kirommy as a sorta 'forbidden love' thing, which is a fun emotion to explore.

With that being said, this video still contains adult content and suggestive lyrics. It's the first time, in a long time, I've struggled through a music video because I've felt certian clips crossed the line. But in my opinion, that's what being an editor is all about - leaving your comfort zone. And I was never in my comfort zone during the process of this video, haha.

Q&A:
What's the deal with Kirommy? Are you into pedophilla?
No. The point is to expand your mind and watch the video from a different point of view. It's about forbidden love. YES, it DOES deal with student/teacher relations. Hence the warning at the start of the video. But the song fit perfectly for that aspect. I couldn't deny myself of creating it. Lines like "Sometimes I feel I've got to run away" and "This tainted love you've given" just scream what a teacher feels when having fallen in love with a student.

But, it's fiction. F.I.C.T.I.O.N. First comment I get from an offended user who thinks I dig pedophilla gets the 'douchebag' of the day award. :)

How'd you make this?:
Same way as most of my videos. Sony Vegas for editing, After Effects for the effects. My good friend Chelle leant me her Kirommy artwork for inspiration, of which I would never be able to finish this video without.

How long did it take?:
Month and a half or so. I actually started it while in the middle of "Nightmare" I needed a break from what I was doing there, and wanted to refresh my mind with another project. So I kept this on the sidelines. Once I finished Nightmare, I put full focus on this.

Why Manson over Soft Cell?:
The original IS always best, but I wanted to go with a creepy/dark/angsty feel for this video. I love both versions, but Mansons clicked with my muse for this. You never fight the muse :)

@PinkRangerVida Hehe, thanks! Isn't R-Rated PR such an interesting concept? The warning was in the video *and* the summary box because you'd be surprised at how dense some folks are. I'm still getting flame comments here about how it's 'wrong that I would make a student/teacher video' when they were warned 1 second into the video. *face palm* Just trying to prevent what I can. I’m a Tommy/Kat shipper, but I do love the “forbidden love” aspect of Tommy’s and Kira’s relationship. I wouldn’t blame Kira if she had a crush on Tommy (he was my first crush, LOL), and Kira’s dinosaur is the same as Kimberly’s. You have shown in many of your videos that you can make something dark and twisted out of a children’s show, and that takes real talent that not many people have. Tommy is also my favorite Ranger. I hope that you’ll never lose your “dark” muse.

@destinedinsanity Hey, thanks!! I love feedback like yours :D And ya know what's funny? Video text is also something I cannot stand. Like, AT ALL. It bugs the sh!t out of me when fan videos insist on putting lyrics overlayed to their video. It's like, "Wtf? I can hear the music, I don't need subtitles" It can work, but 99% of folks go text crazy. So I was a bit hesitant about using it in my own video. It's not something I plan on doing much at all, but knowing it worked here gives me a smile :)
