yeah, the wave just died a lot before it got to any major major countries like Japan and the US. But the islands closest to the quake got a super tsunami like the Indonesian 2004 one.

we got small tsunamis yesterday. around four feet at most in northern region of tohoku. most areas just about one foot. because we have seawalls and tsunami gates all around the coast, this tsunami wasn't big enough to do anything but flood some ports and harbors and coastal roads. no major damage. we were lucky it was not as big as they predicted. still it was a very tense day of waiting.
