I go clamming all the time in the carolinas. I was wondering if you could identify a specific kind of clam that I seem to find here? It has a black shell, with a white trim around the edges of the shell. I find them in mud flats around bays and inlets, and they don't seem to get larger then 1-2 inches.

Folly beach, Kiawah, Stono, make sure that you get the shellfish maps from DNR. The shellfish beds are closed until the fall here.
