  • oops, sorry Warren! 1960s, not 1980s

  • pretty cool, I have never seen music done this way....

  • @hpbatman7 this is experimental music, or sometimes called sound art. it's popular in some circles. Warren Burt has been doing this since the 80s - he makes his own instruments and lectures music. usually there's some type of percussion aspect, which is mic'ed up with contact mics or piezo electric mics (sp?) and then processed in software, or live mixed.

  • Burt is well known for his different kinds of instruments. he also showed a video from 90s which had been synced to the music - though I didn't get a chance to record it (was sitting in the wrong spot to have a clear view of it)

  • @AliaK77 very cool, it's amazing to me, how you can create music from the simplest of things to the most complicated....it really shows how music is universal in nature....

  • @hpbatman7 yes exactly. and also that music is all around us in daily life, if we choose to listen for / to it. all sounds can be music depending on your perspective

  • Hi, it's Warren Burt here. Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen it until just now. By the way, one correction - I've been doing this since the late 1960s, not just the 1980s....(grin)!
