Second in a series of videos trying to capture the spirit and urgency of the protests currently ongoing in Madison, WI during February of 2011 in defense of public workers and America's middle class. kevin@kevinmulvenna.com
As an American, I'm standing with you in solidarity here in CA. As disheartening as it is to see our leaders do this, seeing the people rising up and demanding to be heard gives me great hope. There is no easy solution, but the government should never be allowed to ignore or bulldoze (working class) Americans & consider it business as usual. Stay strong--stay peaceful but don't back down! Give our leaders the guidance they need & know that fellow Americans across the country stand with you.
The Internet is being used to revolutionize societies. Tell your Congressman to rewrite the “Employee Freedom of Choice Act” so it uses the Internet to allow workers to request and conduct union votes DIRECTLY with the NLRB. Truly secret votes where employers can’t identify and fire organizers. Force employers to bargain with unions 30 days after a successful vote. Bring in an arbitrator 30 days later if no contract is in place. In 2012 VOTE for Obama, House & Senate majorities and pass it!
I agree with the teachers. The only reason this is a problem is because the filthy and disgusting heads of this nation can't get enough out of stuffing their faces with our tax dollars. It's time we started fighting against it.
(Don't get me wrong, I love this country and the freedoms we're allowed; it's those that seek to take them away for their own personal gain that I can't stand.)
Thank you to everyone working so hard in Madison to make sure the people's voice is being heard.
Eternal gratitude from everyone who wishes he could be there!
