  • Hi Robert, just wondered as you're on a Line6 now if you've ever tried a Variax & what you thought... there are some great Variax vids on YT posted by a guy called glee9.

Did you learn classical at some point?

  • @lbk3918 I haven't tried a Variax (yet). Classical? I tried but failed.

  • Single coils are so much more expressive don't you think? Robert, have you gigged this amp yet? I have never had any luck with any of my L6 amps in a live situation. They don't respond to the guitar's volume control. Are you finding that to be the case? I gave up on them after the last Flextone series and Vetta.

  • Yes, I have always preferred single coils guitars. Yes, I gigged with the amp yesterday. It did cut through really well, actually. Responding to the guitar's volume control is better on the Spider Valve MkII than the older Spiders, I think. It worked quite well for me for last night's gig.

  • Hi Robert, first of all: congrats on another great video. I don't have a lot of time to watch everything on YouTube but I watch all your stuff from the first to the last second!

Question: I have seen pretty much everything you've ever posted, so I've seen a lot (all?) of your guitars. This Suhr classic is by far my favourite. Is it your favourite too?

  • Yes, my Suhr is my favourite - no question about that.

  • @lbk3918 I own the Line6 Vaxiax 600 electric and I had owned the 300. I have one video of me playing the 600 all the others are my Godin. The Variax with some settings sounds nicer than my Godin I think however both of my Vaxiax guitars cut out if I leaned down a bit, like the electronics internally don't like certain angles or something; not everyone has the issue. It can come down to, do you want to pack around a power box, batteries or a POD X3 live to power the guitar?

  • could you teach me that lick you play at 6.10?
