Several dozen people rallied against government spending in Hermosa Beach on April 11. They marched from the pier to Hermosa Avenue, saying no to additional taxes.

  • Philosophically, the present government in California and D.C. is quite irrational: the intention of both is to subordinate the will of the individual to that of the state; to reward those who are unproductive with unearned benefits; and to punish the productive, the skilled through the confiscation of their wealth. We must change the philosophical view of the population for rationality, capitalism, and individualism.

  • Are they talking about the taxes california wants to raise to pay for the budget deficit?

  • Teabaggers in my home town??

  • The guy in the beginning of the video is Logan Darrow Clements, who is famous for his activism protesting the use of eminent domain. He's making a documentary that argues against socialized medicine. :-)

  • ^ began spending

  • I don't want MY comment to be taking out of context either. I don't want new taxes either but I realize we ALL have to sacrifice, save, and spend. I do believe the government needs to cut WASTEFUL spending. Starting with the Iraq War. I personally have paid all of my credit card debit, cut the electric bill in half, and less travel (less gas). My dispoable income and savings account has increased and I am proud to say as an American, I have being spending that money into my local community.

  • The info section said "several dozen" not few. Which means a lot. Either you need to learn how to read or take that elephant trunk out your a^& and stop taking words out of context. And judging by what I saw when I drove by, the video clearly depicts the size of the crowd. Plus, 120 people versus the size of the voters in the Beach Cities is barely a dent.

  • The L.A. TIMES reporter wouldn't want any truth to get out -- I can tell BECAUSE HE EDITED OUT EVERYTHING IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS OWN VIDEO THAT DIDN'T JUST MENTION TAXES !! Where is the missing tape and why is it missing? AND he put in tape from SOME OTHER Demonstration that was just about TAXES. Nice try, Amigo. WE will prevail.

  • Marginalized by the liberal media. We had the same event in Pasadena, CA on 4-11-09 with 200-300 people and I have yet to hear anything about it on the news. KTLA 5 was there.

  • oh. My. God. How typical. The L.A. Times decides this was a "few dozen" people that were just there to "say no to taxes." WHAT?! There were over 120 people saying NO TO THE SOCIALISM OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION. And you don't even mention this is going on ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.
