The original title of the song was "A Boy's Thanksgiving Day" and it never mentioned Christmas; this is a different version.

How ironic that so many people are arguing over a holiday song. I guess the messages of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are all lost on them.

Actually it's a holiday song. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are all mentioned in the song.

That's strange since the chorus is "Merry, merry, merry Christmas, & and grand New Year."

Hazel: So where's your grandma's house?
Frank: Just over the river and through the woods.
Percy: Seriously? To grandmother's house we go?

One of the few well known ones, sadly. Also, Jingle Bells used to be a Thanksgiving song before Christmas coopted it.lol

Thanksgiving is when this song should take place, not Christmas! There are already plenty of Christmas songs, our one Thanksgiving song shouldn't be taken away!
