Tristine Rainer talks about Anais Nin for Anais Nin @ 105 at the Hammer Museum. Organized by Steven Reigns
Tristine Rainer, Ph.D., has had duel careers as a pioneer in autobiographic writing and as a screenwriter/producer. Her groundbreaking book The New Diary , for which Anais Nin wrote a preface, introduced contemporary journal writing to a popular audience. Her television network movies Games Mother Never Taught You, Having It All, Secrets of a Married Man and Forbidden Nights won awards for their non-stereotypical portrayals of women and minorities. Her bestseller Your Life as Story applied what she learned about story structure from screenwriting to help others see and write the narratives in their lives. She is the Director of the nonprofit Center for Autobiographic Studies and teaches memoir and nonfiction narrative in the Masters of Professional Writing Program at USC. www.storyhelp.com
