This video demonstrates two eBook Readers. One is Apps4Android's accessibility and speech-enhanced version of CoolReader. The other, for all practical purposes could be the Kindle, Nook, Sony Reader, or any other eBook reader that is not fully-accessible to individuals with print disabilities. One exception is Apple's iPad which can be used with voice-over to read eBooks.

Roughly, 10% of the U.S. population, or 30 million consumers, have some type of print disability that precludes them from using inaccessible eBook Readers. Applying that percentage to the population of the world we are talking about 650 million consumers. Add to that more than a billion people who never learned to read worldwide and we are talking about 1.65 billion consumers who can not make use of inaccessible eBook Readers.

This video first demonstrates using the Android version of Kindle reading a book. Then, you'll see the same being read by an accessible version of CoolReader. Keep in mind that the second eBook reader is accessible, usable and useful to approximately 1.65 billion more people than the first eBook reader. No big deal from a business standoiint... or is it?

You decide.
