And seriously just shut the fuck up about Sharon. Drag has nothing to do with who you sleep with. Alaska has her own drag, Sharon has her own drag. And who gives a shit if she made it to drag race after the 5th time. That's a testament of nothing. Jennifer Hudson didn't win American Idol but she's got an Oscar and a Grammy. And I can't even remember who won the season she was in.

I think a lot of people just don't get what Alaska does. It's genderfuck, it's abrasive, hard-to-handle comedy and performance. I won't say it's the future of drag or that it hasn't been done before, but it's definitely fresh. The gay community can be so homogenized sometimes. A good majority just want their queens to look glamorous and twirl around, lip syncing to a Nicki Minaj song. And that's fine, but I don't find it particularly interesting.
