This 1945 documentary was made by the Academy Award winning director John Huston for the U.S. Army Signal Corps. It was suppressed by the Army for thirty-five years. It is one of the first chronicles of what is known today as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). It was to show how men who had been mentally damaged in the war could be helped by psychiatric care to lead useful lives. Let There Be Light was filmed at Mason General Hospital on Long Island, NY.
