When you launch it, do you use a launch mode switch?

Yes. I'm in speed mode on final approach and when I catch. Once I grab the wing tip I switch on the Launch preset (Slight camber and up elevator). Once I release the preset- it goes back to speed mode.

If I didnt know better I would say in the low altitude thermal searches someone off camera was re launching it ;)

LOL! I tried to keep the plane in the frame but that would mean losing the thermal... oh well. lol. The flight would've been longer if I drifted with the thermal, too.
Love it tho, dude. This is usually what I do during flying sessions. Specking out bores me.
