Chinatown Youth Initiatives - 2011 Chinatown Beautification Day

Last week, Chinatown Partnership in collaboration with the Chinatown Youth Initiative blasted off the 9th annual Chinatown Beautification Day! One of the growing and expanding projects under Chinatown Youth Initiatives. Over 150 teens from all over the city worked together with our CleanStreet workers to clean up the sidewalks of Chinatown.

Chinatown Beautification Day was created in 2003 to address the ongoing sanitation & environmental problems in Chinatown. Since 2009, a city-wide youth conference was also added. The Youth Conference complements CBD by discussing the various facets of leadership and community involvement in a broader context. The Cleanup Day following the conference is the physical manifestation of youth leadership and involvement.

This year's theme is "I stand for. We Clean for. I hope for".
