just another example of true innovation coming from everyday folks, instead of the cooperations with seemingly endless R&D funding. 6 stars

The idea is very nice and I was also thinking about something like this, but the QR codes choice is not the best out there imho...
what about rfid sensors? or even better, natural feature tracking of images?

networking rfid might be tricky and natural tracking of images is going to give you worse results, as simple features are too broad. The problem is the quality of video in mobile phones, zooming will give you the ability to decrease size of QR.. But I would like to experiment with embedding QR into objects as integrated patterns.
