A really nice regional transporter...Too bad they stopped building them in '98...Jets rule I guess...

@collectorfun The prop rotates the same direction as the trubines in the engine. There is a planetary gear reduction but it isnt to compensate for torque it is so the prop is not going as fast as the turbine rotors. If they go fast enough they will break the speed of sound and become way less efficient.

@gator7293 Yes, but the engine are turbo propeller engines, so inside are turbines wich activate the propellers, this turines rotate in oposite direction of the propellers, so compensate the propeller´s torke.
This aren´t conventional piston engines.

nice plane...I'd used this several times...in the 80s we even used a YS-11 in Hawaii!
