The rope symbolizes the reason to hang himself, without having enough rope, you can't do it; he's got it pretty good for how little he's got--just enough to get by. It's hard to take advantage of the good things in life, if the good things in life are limited... Beautiful song. Heart of Country? I couldn't agree more.
