Usually we have about 10 to 15 ft between the hook and slip bobber. It depends on how deep we want the eel or how fast we are drifting with the tide. Some of the fish we caught was freelining, which is no bobber attached.

i fids the same way with eels but question how much line do u usually put between hook and bobin
