Welcome! This is a Patriot Outfitters review of the extremely popular BlackHawk Desert Ops Boots.

You can find these boots at http://www.patriotoutfitters.com/scripts/z.exe/sbproc?action=sp6482

These boots are designed for the military wearer, by military guys that have been-there and done-that.

The Desert Ops Boots feature an oil-resistant Vibram outsole that, in addition to being really flexible, also provides excellent traction in all kinds of nasty terrain.

The pattern on the sole has big, open lugs which are great for getting traction when climbing and making sure dirt doesn't build up in the tread of your boot.

BlackHawk decided to use custom molded Ortholite insoles - which I have to tell you make a world of difference on your feet. Those things really help with foot fatique.

Running the length of the boot is a steel shank to provide extra support, which also helps fight foot fatique.

The upper is made of a tough-as-nails nylon that is lightweight and breathable. The toe and heal pads are made out of scuff and water resistant suede.

And inside the Desert Ops Boot is the Dri-Lex lining that wicks away sweat and water, which is great for keeping your boot dry and more importantly keeping your foot dry.

The fully gusseted tongue keeps debris from getting inside your boot, and a Nilon loop on the back helps you pull the boots on.

So, I've got to say that overall, not only is the BlackHawk Desert Ops Boot a great looking boot, it is very comfortable and built to take punishment.

  • Blackhawk says that they have a Dri-Lex lining inside the boot to allow water and moisture to evaporate away to help keep your feet dry. The tongue is attached to the uppers at a height of approximately 6". No water should get into the boot under that height. Of course, if the boot is submersed in water it will take in water... No boot is entirely water proof but it should be a great boot to wear for your competition. Have a great run.

  • These boots are the desert tan.

  • @mbordo2 i could care less if it was made in the usa! Blackhawks quality is the best thats why i always buy their products, and i dont where or how its made just as long as it is a Great quality product, which Blackhawk always delivers!!

  • this boots are awesome, they performed great in the sandbox.

  • If my foot is ten and half inches what size should I get?

  • Very cool/functional Boots ! tnx 4 the review !

  • @GFreerider I have worn these boots in water and they are exceptional. I even swam across a river in them. Be advised, water will not drain from them unless you take them off! My biggest complaint with them is that the toe of the sole has come detached from the rest of the boot from a good deal of wear and tear.

  • im entering a guts and glory competition soon and its a 3k course of mountain climbs rope climbs mud terrain and swimming objectives i plan to wear these but will these boots swell once the water gets inside of them? how do they do under water conditions?

  • @mbordo2 Nope made in China but it's still a great boot not too hot in the summer, not too cold in the winter.Lightweight, comfy and durable haven't had any issues with it yet.

  • made in usa?
