oh my god the cpu score, very very impresionant!!!

It also doesn't compare with a single 5870 or 5970 card, either. The 5770 is a budget card.
But then again, Apple puts nothing but mid-range or budget components in their computers anyways, which is why they consistently get slaughtered in benchmark tests against cheaper PCs.
The $1999 iMac got KILLED by a $1000 PC in an IGN head-to-head test playing SCII at a measly 1680x1050. The iMac choked at 28FPS, and the PC smoked at 112 FPS.
It ain't all due to the video card.

@TheUberDeity the mac typically ships with an ati 5770 gfx card - which doesnt compare to the 4 x 480 setup.
-
Exactly my point :) The 12-Core Mac Pro scored 15.7 in the Cinebench test. Not very good.
-
@TheUberDeity the 12 core mac pro is built on a similar dual xeon configuration tho
-
@OmegaFuckingWeapon supposedly it won't work. It's only 3-way SLI compatible. But the 480 is also only capable of 2-way and 3-way according to nVidia. he definitely should try!

@Trubyd44 good explaination however now you need GT580 with your current build which noone had.. oh and in quad sli which noone has done yet either... your score be 49k easy
trubby i understand about the extra qpi lane with the xeons but if you already have a i7 and ur foing to use 1 cpu could u use a i7 ?
thanks -bioh4zardgaming

@Bioh4zardGaming Nope. Note even (1) i7 will work in the SR-2...it has to be a Xeon...other i7s will not post. Sorry.

i don't think the Xeon is designed for gaming. if the sr2 compatible with i7 980x, then your score should be higher.

@jionggezhou Ok, you are not correct here. The X5680 IS a 980X except that the X5680 has an extra QPI lane that allows it to talk to another CPU. The reason, in the past, that Xeons didn't play games too well was due to server motherboard limitations...not the CPU. Every new 'regular' CPU that Intel releases, like the 980X has a server (Xeon) counterpart that is identical except for the QPI link --in most cases. THE 980X CANNOT WORK WITH THE SR-2! It doesn't have the extra QPI lane.
