This is fitting for a Hero such as the office slain in South Bend. There are other departments that will fill the shift so Officers in the South Bend Police Department may attend the funeral of their fallen brother. As for the scumbag that shot the officer, he is enjoying the rest of his miserable life behind bars as he justly deserves. Greg

@vlagamemedia1 Generally officers from other departments will volunteer to take over duties so that officers may attend the services.

@vlagamemedia1 Don't worry, plenty of officers stay behind to fill the shifts, usually the off duty guys who attend unless they are cleared!

@vlagamemedia1 Typically these officers come from all over the state, and sometimes even the country. Surrounding agencies or the sheriff department will handle calls that are in the city of the fallen officer.
Do some research before you make a dick comment.
