@SoreEyeMusic Just so you get it straight, the tone knobs on both distortion and overdrive pedal must be turned to 0, just like on the guitar ^^

I know a technique for a very moody synth sound. Can't do chords with it though, way too fuzzy. All you need is a distortion pedal, an overdrive pedal (Optional) and some sort of chorus, and a little reverb or delay for final touches. Go to the neck pickup, turn the tone knob down completely on the guitar, and the two first mentioned pedals. Then turn on chorus and add some delay. Play single tones and melodies, and do NOT let two tones ring simultaneously, it fuzzes it out too much. Awesome! :D
