Orbits - Henry Brant - Guggenheim Museum - 6-21-09 (2 of 3) 1st performance

A performance of Orbits (a piece for 80 Trombones, Soprano, and Organ) by Henry Brant performed at the Guggenheim Museum. This is the first performance of the night. I'm not sure if listening to a recording (especially from my camera) will have the same effect as listening to it in the Guggenheim Museum because of the architecture. Conducted by Neely Bruce. Do NOT talk to me about the camera work, I was playing trombone in this.

NY Times describes Orbits as "one of the most mesmerizing and eclectic musical works ever written".  WHHAAATTTT? To my ears, the orbital rotations were fun for a few minutes then then the spaceship crashed and burned. My two word summary: bombastic bullshit!

Thanks for having this up so quickly. I saw an article about this performance online, and neither Rhapsody nor anyplace else I checked had a recording. Good to hear it.
