The Great Gary Moore has been one of my most enduring musical heroes, since i was a young teenager, and have looked forward to each new album, to this day. Had the good fortune of seeing him exactly once, about 25 years ago, at a small concert club just outside of Detroit, one no longer in existance for many years now, and which was known for showcasing some heavy metal acts. Remember marveling at his energy on stage, and feeling so lucky to finally see "the kid" from Ireland, rocking to a packed house of hungry and enthusiastic fans, he did not disappoint. Will remain one of my most cherished memories. I'm of course devasted, as many of us out here are. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the joy you brought, of countless hours listening to you, and for all the GREAT music you've left us with, you'll be missed always. My condolences go out to your family...
This is just one of possibly 3 tributes I'm planning on doing. This one is showcasing solos, vocals, and outstanding (imo) segments from the early, hard-rock/Heavy Metal years, accompanying the few pics (relating to this particular era) that i have only at the moment. My next tributes will follow his Blues and modern rock stages. Hope i'm light enough on the effects, i really want it to be about Gary, but still be unique and visually stimulating--i sense there are going to be LOTS of tributes from fans, to this giant of a musician, historically significant; disappointing somewhat that to too many he's remembered only as the guitarist with ThinLizzy. To many of us though, he was WAY so much more...
I would like to have included a few more photos, i already had some downloaded to use--hate only that i had to use them 1st for this occasion--that will be some extra time. Also, this version may be re-uploaded, but can't seem to find the better quality .AVI i produced, only this 7.5 mb WMV.
Finally: "Cheers" to you Gary, and your worldwide legion of grieving fans...
I agree with FanFromEurope, the compilation is great, but in my eyes it`s just a part of Gary as a musician, because there is so much mo(o)re... See all those brilliant ballads, all the fantastic blues- stuff. He was a man who played the guitar, how can I explain as a german, ´out of the stomach`, as we say. I never heard or saw somebody like him in this way and that`s the reason why he`ll ever be the greatest man on guitar who lived on earth!

@courgan09 : Actually, i'm in total agreement with the both of you! His diversity as a guitarist AND vocalist/musician/songwriter is what put him in a class above and all by himself. That diversity and success in each genre, that ability to even touch temporarily on different styles of music and still come across as truly genuine thoughout his career, is really something special, and one of the things that kept me hooked. I had wanted to do clip-compilations for the blues n ballads also, but....

@screaminone : ....i saw some REALLY nice tributes elsewhere, and was a bit jealous or in awe, and thought mine would would really be poor in comparison : 7) I may still do one when i have the extra time. Even to this day, i occasionaly stop for a moment to think: "can't believe the guy is gone..."
Your comments are very righteous and accurate--BIG thumbs up!
