7e jour du Nagoya 1990 : Division Juryo. Takatoriki (Juryo 1 est) rencontre Daishoyama (Juryo 2 ouest). Combat spectaculaire : joli Concours de claques ! Victoire de Takatoriki par Yorikiri. Il termine le tournoi avec une fiche de 10-5 et va intégrer la division Makuuchi pour la première fois de sa carrière au tournoi suivant.

  • The funniest thing about this unusual bout is that Takatoriki was an oshi-zumo rikishi who preferred to avoid belt fighting whereas Daishoyama was a belt man who rarely used other tactics. I remember watching him in the early 1990s. Yet Takatoriki won by yorikiri.

  • Is slapping the face common in sumo? seemed pretty bad from someone not familiar with sumo.
