@Vpmatt Yes, very sad news indeed. Part of Music History. As well as playing in "Penny Lane" and "A Day In The Life", David Mason also was part of "All You Need Is Love" and "Magical Mystery Tour."
He had leukaemia and died at age 85.
BTW, thank you for providing such a great YouTube Channel. I eagerly await each posting.

@jogman Very sad news. Thanks for sharing the info. I'm glad I made this video then - a kind of tribute to David Mason and the man he was. He was also involved in the orchestra in "A Day in the Life" and was one of the people who talked the others into playing along with the Beatles' crazy ideas to wear wigs etc.

@Richey4RealCa Yes, you are right - David Mason died on 29 April 2011.

If I have one favourite Beatles song, this one is Penny Lane. I was very touched to see David Mason playing his trumpet lines and talking about this. This song is my mobile phone ring and I never had enough of listening to it ;-)
Thanks one more time @Vpmatt, I'm your fan. If there would be a documentary of Geoff Emerick's "Here, There & Everywhere" book someday, I'm pretty sure you should be his partner. Keep going!!

I was reading Rolling Stone at work the other night and it said that david mason had sadly passed away recently.
Always a joy to see your work - enlightening , to say the least !!!!
