I wanted to give friends and family who couldn't attend FAN EXPO in Toronto, ON (Aug. 28th-30th 2009) a sense of scope and scale. The video was taken on the last day as things wound down, although I wish I'd shot something on the Saturday (the busiest day).
The video walks from the main exhibition hall's doors, past the MARVEL area, to the TRON booth, through Artist Alley, through the Horror area, to Bruce Campbell's signing area, and ends with a sweep around of my booth in the Artist Alley: Blayne's Custom Toys and Action Figures, #A201.
The caibinet is looking pretty bare by Sunday, as I put everything on sale that day to ensure I broke even for the cost of my table (which I did successfully).
The whole convention experince was much more rewarding (and less hectic, if that can be believed) as an exhibitor because it gave me a sense of place, unlike many of the cosplay-adorn kids found aimlessly walking the halls. It was fun, and I was able to get some great connections as a result of my presence this year at FAN EXPO. I hope to return to the same area for the August 2010 show.
