  • Hippie music? This is a Motown classic, originally by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, James Jamerson on bass. (Will is one of the contributors to the definitive book on Jamerson, "Standing in the Shadows of Motown".)

  • Wow, that's a relic. Job & Berry schooled on the funk @ 1:52. Dead sound, great footage.

  • Those guys probably aren't used to such a tight rhythm section.

  • I love Jerry, but please!!!!!....don't try to sing Smokey, it's embarrasing.

  • Weir sounds great here...

  • Oh I know the song, just the way they do it is the un-funkyest version of a soul song ever (except for will).

I am curious as to how Rick gets his hands on all this amazing stuff! This one especially is pre-cell phone camera days, how does one just end up with non-broadcast rehearsal footage from a network tv show?? Wow. Either way, thanks for supplying all the great bass clips that you do.

  • where do you get this stuff????

Will sounds awesome on anything...even noodly hippie music. :)
