  • Hybrid vehicles can plug into the electric grid and run on electricity. Electricity is made mostly by burning fossil fuels or by nuclear reactors. So...we will need to add many more nuclear reactors to provide the electricity for the hybrids. Otherwise the burning of fossil fuels to make electricity which is then stored in batteries before powering a car would just add several levels of inefficiency to the process, resulting in a worse ratio of fossil fuel consumption to energy output.

  • The argument for natural gas is bogus, it will benefit oil companies not consumer. It is 40% less expensive than natural gas. Do you not think the price will sky rocket if we use it in cars on a large scale. Hybrid technology is ready we lack production. Oil Companies want to control all energy, it is not in their interest to go away from fossil fuels. Natural Gas should be used for home heating, using Natural Gas in cars will greatly increase heating costs for people using natural gas.
