  • The so called Elgin Marbles now in the British Museum belong to the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens.

  • I know, the Parthenon Marbles should be returned now that the new Acropolis Museum is ready to receive them and preserve them. The Brits no longer can use the excuse that Greece cannot protect the Marbles because they did not have the facilities to do so.

  • also within the parthenon were plenty of statues and art, but sadly these were taken out by the second ruler of the parthenon and instead of being destroyed like the HUGE statue of Athena that was within the building they were sent to a museum, the paintings on the pillars inside the parthenon of some of the Gods were removed snd the building was stripped naked and used as a war building during one of the wars, part of the building was blown off because that part held black powder.

  • the Parthenon was built using whats called the "golden rectangle", the rectangle wasn't really a tool, it was a way of measurement, in between the front columns of the parthenon for example is the golden rectangle, each of the columns were measured to be the same length away from each other using this rule of measurement.
