LABOR OF DEATH
Every minute, three babies are born in the country. But not all survive. A report from the National Statistics Office (NSO) says that for every 1,000 babies born, an average of 28 die every day. Mothers are not as lucky. According to a United Nations Population Fund study, 11 Filipino women die from pregnancy and childbirth-related complications placing the Philippines as one among Southeast Asian countries with the most critical number of maternal deaths. Are the government's measures enough to prevent these alarming situations?

LABOR OF DEATH
I would think that it's not a good thing for people to press down hard on the mothers' bellies while giving birth. Maybe that contributes to it...
