  • @davidthefat Hi David. I'm working as a nomad for LiNK and I noticed that nobody had responded to your question from way back. Sorry about that! Rescuing North Korean refugees is illegal in China because of their "illegal" status in China. 1) North Korean refugees are not even given refugee status and are considered illegal economic migrants. 2) The friendship treaty between North Korea and China dictate that North Koreans illegally found in China should be repatriated back to North Korea

  • I never understood why saving refugees were illegal in China. Is it because their eyewitness accounts can ultimately bring down the Kim's regime in North Korea? So what if NK is a buffer zone? China's coastlines are exposed anyways from invasion; both an invasion of democratic ideals and troops. The internet is another way to spread democratic ideal... But how can we spread the humanitarian ideal?
