the first caterpillar on your web page what kind is it?

Is this in real time or is it time lapsed? I have Painted Lady caterpillars that are extremely close to forming their chrysalis' and I was wondering how long the actual process from full grown caterpillar to chrysalis takes.

@tekyteacher itsas mallow plant and other proccessed food

@snow102092 It's their food probably. Looks similar to the same stuff that came with the caterpillars that we got through mail order

i'm wondering what all that yellow/brown gunk in the cups are?=/

Simply amazng one of the smallest and most delicate of God's creations. Simply amazing how it sheds it skin to make a chrysalis that will protect it like a force field. I am waiting for my Painted Ladies to open in about 10 days (smile)

Yes, the yellow stuff is their food.....malva leaves I believe.
The one on the left had not made their chrysalis yet. It's resting and waiting. :)
