@demlikposet - No I think you misunderstood my comment. I *prefer* to use a mortar and pestle NOT a food processor. Using an M&P produces pesto that has a much more interesting texture than a food processor.

I think the basil leaves are sweeter if you dont let the plant flower.pinch out the flowers...
