I'm not disrespecting the MLS because I enjoy watching it and have adopted the New England revolution as my MLS team. But to get a true measure how far football has come in the US you need to play us over here and experience what we experience week in week out.

ok, this may be the mls "showpiece" event but for all the visiting teams its just another pre season friendly for managers to experiment with some reserve players/tactics to get ready for the new season. the european teams dont take these type of games seriously.
celtic have beaten man utd, milan, juventus, liverpool, barcelona, lyon and so on over the last few years...mls teams would get slaughtered against celtic if they were to play them during the season when they would be at their peak.
