Persian Dance (Shahrzad Dance Academy -"Yar")

"Yar" (meaning "The Beloved" in Persian)

This dance is about unconditional and undying love...the kind of love that makes us lose ourselves in the sweet wine of life, to the point where even yearning itself becomes a joy.

This piece was performed by Shahrzad Dance Academy (SDA), a California based Persian dance company in the U.S., founded by Shahrzad Khorsandi in 1996.

SDA performs both locally and internationally at various events such as cultural festivals, weddings, school & library educational programs, and formal concerts.
