Mayor Sara Presler was elected to office in May 2008 and she is running for re-election in the March 9, 2010 mayoral primary.
Sara is an energetic, positive Flagstaff professional. She was raised in rural Arizona, and moved to Flagstaff in 1997. After completing law school at the University of Michigan, she accepted a public defense attorney position in downtown Flagstaff with Coconino County.
Sara advocates for the needs of children, the mentally ill and low-income clients in the justice system. Sara currently teaches Business Law & Ethics for Northern Arizona University. Yes! Business, politics, and ethics do connect--and especially when working with Sara.
Sara actively represents all citizens in the City of Flagstaff--not just special interest groups. Sara is focused on proactive solutions and leads with energy, creative thinking, and partnerships.
Sara's approach is a citizen-centered focus that emphasizes relationship building and an inclusive process to address Flagstaff solutions for the environment, economic development, and preserving the Flagstaff we love.
