hi, i downloaded the ubuntu like u said and the infra recorder also on the website but i cant get it 2 burn onto a cd, it downloaded with win.rar and now i'm lost, i suck at computer stuff, help me plzzzzz

noob here.
had vista, my comp crashed then windows XP was put on it and now runs fine. Can i still recover files from before it crashed? Any help, thanks.

Nope, sorry. To install xp after vista would mean you probably formatted the drive, permanently deleting everything on it and overwriting it. If you had done it before you had installed xp yes, too late now...sorry

to fix the crashed comp

chkdsk will scan to see if there is any problems with the hard drive (ex. bad sectors/corruptions) it will not do anything to fix the computer

um, i dont mean to be rude but a usb port is something that you just use to connect to other devices, if you mean a usb drive then dont think so, unless you can put it on it and then assign it to first boot device
