Duane was born in Corning, NY but his musical career didn't begin until his family moved to Arizona in the early 1950's. He partnered with Lee Hazlewood who ultimately produced many of his recordings. "Rebel Rouser" was his first big hit peaking at #6 during July of 1958. So popular was Eddy's guitar playing that in 1960 he became the first rock and roll artist to have a "signature model guitar" introduced by Guild Guitars. This recording of "Rebel Rouser" had something of a renaissance after it was featured in the 1994 film "Forrest Gump" starring Tom Hanks.
