May GOD have mercy on Oxford, AL! I have a feeling that something VERY bad is going to happen there!

Oxford Mayor Leon Smith told the New York Times in a story published last week that the mound would be destroyed.

we are going to have to do things like this sooner or later.
just to let you know, they have done more research and the man who first made these statements is now saying that he is wrong. its just a bunch of rocks up there that were clustered together. trust me. i know. there are no indian things up there at all

@TtoddG Yes, that's exactly what Wal-Mart and the Oxford mayor are saying. Somehow they stopped the project... so why, if there was only a bunch of rocks?

Fantastic film. I don't know if Target is related to Walmart/Sam's Club, but that is the logo the video showed toward the end rather than the Walmart logo....

You're right.
Wal-Mart has stopped the destruction of the mound for now following our protest, but apparently Target now has views on it... it is just a matter of time that ANY shopping center will make their hands on the mound, unless we succeed in protecting it with a law. We need as well to reach politicians who agreed that it could be destroyed (the mayor and the governor). Elections are next year!
