http://www.Techbricks.nl shows how to open a LEGO pneumatic cylinder and how to drill the nozzles (inlet/outlet) with a 2mm drill. It is not recommended drilling a nozzle without opening the cylinder and removing the piston because: 1) You can't see how far the drill is and you may drill through the other side. This is especially the case at the lower nozzle. 2) You can't remove the drilling dust from the inside of the cylinder. This dust will damage your piston ones you use the cylinder in a LEGO pneumatic engine (LPE).
Drilling the inlet and outlet is absolute necessary to get a better air flow and to let your LPE perform must faster! Check my website for more information: http://www.techbricks.nl/My-pneumatic-LEGO-projects/lego-pneumatic-engine-lpe...

  • Hi there. you are doing a great job. I built the engine on your page except I couldn't figure out how to open the switches.could you please try to make a video of how to do that?I would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

  • @brainylegoman97 Hi, I have made a video and a web page about modifying switches. Check my website.

  • id did this, and air comes out through the top, is that normal?

  • No, I am sorry for you, but that ain't normal. I modified many cylinders and I never had a failure.
