Gas or gasless http://www.learn-how-to-weld.com/gasless-mig-wire.htmlThis is a demonstration of some gasless mig welding wire that is 0.8mm/0.030" in diameter.

This is a very good quality flux cored MIG welding wire.

It is an E71T-GS wire that is perfect for all general fabrication jobs such as making box trailers, farm implement repairs etc.

In this particular video I was modifying some shelving to make then smaller in width. I had to chop off about 400mm/16" and then MIG weld the end parts back on again. I used KISWEL K-NGS E71T-GS 0.8mm x 4.5kg self shielded flux cored wire.

You can see and hear in the video how well this wire performs. It feeds smoothly and reliably and is very good to use. There is nothing worse than using bad feeding wire.

I have uploaded some pictures to my website www.learn-how-to-weld.com of the finished welds from this gasless wire demonstration video. The video images of the finished welds were a bit blurry so I used the still camera.

Cheers,
Peter

  • I have a small Lincoln mig welder that I use gasless wire in . My problem is the wire (original spool) is not feeding smoothly. I tends to come out in spurts which is very annoying when trying to weld a good bead! I'm debating on getting a bottle of CO2 and some solid wire instead of the flux core wire.

  • Could be dodgy wire, bad tip, might need a new liner, feed roller migh be worn. Are you using knurled or u groove rollers not vee type? The actual axle or hub the wire spins on might be grabbing a slight bit. You might have a bad earth = erratic arc. The little guide tube(s) next to the feed rollers might have worn down and created a groove in which the wire can stick.

  • @learnhowtoweld you need a feed roller that has teeth.

  • @94xr7 yes it has knurled roller

  • that is gasless rigth? but you still have a nozzle

  • Yes it is gasless. I just didn't take the nozzle off.

I only had to weld up 4 of these and the nozzle wasn't really bothering me.

  • No , you don't have to do anything .... but if you are an ignorant jerk , and shoing it to all of the world ( almost ) then what do you expect ... ? what kind of coments will you get for this vid ?

  • @willdeburr

Hey jerk yourself, you sound like a total tosser. Who the fuck said I had to have a welding lense up to it? I use this video on a sales page for selling gasless mig wire you jerk.

    Geez people expect fucking everything....

  • replace the tip or try to clean it i normaly clean them i have speacal hand drill that fitts perfectly in the tip

  • either not enough tension on the drive rolls or burn back which is caused by in correct settings

  • I just started learning to weld and picked up a Harbor Freight wire feed welder and have been having the same problem. This may seem very obvious but try adjusting the tension incrementally on the feeder bearing inside the welder.
