The film concerns the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is angry when his mother, Connie, invites her boyfriend over. After causing one mischievous antic after another, he is sent to his room without supper. Feeling angry and unloved, he then creates a forest bordering a massive ocean, and sails away to an island inhabited by many large imaginary monsters called the Wild Things, who crown him as their ruler. During his time on the island, he befriends the wild thing Carol, who teaches him the meaning of love.


Book, Written in 1963, it was awarded the Caldecott Medal in 1964. [1] It also won the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and was an ALA Notable Book

One of my fav movies ever, it makes me laugh, cry and feel like child once again, genious the one who wrotte de book and the one who made it a movie, just ... just loved it since a red the history, 7 years ago :)

I definitely feel like this movie gets both good vibes and bad vibes for people. I've heard some people LOVE it, and others HATE it. There's really no middle ground. For me, it's totally a nostalgic experience, and I loved it. I respect either opinions, and could see how some would think it was boring or weird. My boyfriend hated it, I left the theater crying. Just depends, but I definitely have added this movie to my collection. Spike Jones is an artist and I think he did a great job.

I think this is one of those films that are supposed to make you feel sad in a goo sort of way. Rather than make another over-the-top fantasy film spike jonze decided to use it as an opportunity to depict people that you may know or moments that you've lived through as a child. I understand why people may have hated it but I think the idea was brilliant.

This movie was by far...one of the biggest pieces of shit I have ever seen. Very disjointed, boring, and an overall waste of time. If you cried because of watching this film, then you have issues, and you are an idiot. Please do not waste your time, instead watch Grave of the Fireflies or The Never Ending Story. Those are real movies. Screw you all ;)
