Phil Manning Band rehearsing "Be Yourself Be Free" live on ABC TV around 1975 or 1976. I totally dig this song, it's an awesome mid 70s funky blues tune with some real cool wah guitar sounds!!! Out of the trio, Phil Manning vocals/guitar is from the early 70s blues band Chain and Paul Wheeler on bass is from Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, and Trevor Courtney on drums is from a number of bands including Stylus and Mondo Rock.

  • Oh How I love that guitar. My father got that back in 1975 and he has handed that down to me. The pickup switch and output switch has been replaced and the pickups have been replaced with some more modern toned pickups and they are gold plated too. So ill have to work on getting some gold plated hardware to put on for the bridge and the machine heads. I know some of you are thinking sacrilege! Remember that Phil Manning has done so much to his guitar too.

  • Phil and Rockfoot had a great opening song at the red Lion and other pubs in hobart ....you gotta groove..bloody awesome... Phil is a great guitar artist, exceptional a good deliverery of newspapes and can also run a good dairy farm

  • Awesome footage of a young and intense Trevor Courtney. One of my biggest influences.
