The guitarron is a large, deep-bodied Mexican 6-string acoustic base considered to be the "heartbeat of the modern Mariachi band". Here, David Michael improvises a 16-count Turkish rhythm and is accompanied by his long-time music partner Randy Mead on pan flute. You can hear more of David's music at www.davidmichaelharp.com

  • Way not to play a guitarron.

  • pan pipes would be intresting to play. they expensiv?

  • i love it

  • Muy interesante, aún que el típico interpretación del guitarrón es a doble cuerda, pero si, si constato que es buena propuesta, que solo esta en A, los hispanoparlantes buscamos hacer el español el lider como lengua

  • @MusicBySav , I agree, i have actually heard them played together, and the guitarron has a particular potency about itself.

  • @ado654 whoops =]. I meant the power coming from the guitarron. For some reason, this registers as a more powerful sound than the upright

  • @MusicBySav , you have never heard an upright played before?

  • Oh My God, this was Amazing! Loved it:)

  • Mexican Guitarron, is a wonderful & powerful instrument!

  • This video introduced me to the sounds of a guitarron. I never heard such a large acoustic bass before. Thanks =]
